Education Connection
Your Education Connection is about getting parents and teachers working with each other and with children to help them learn. As public broadcasters, education has always been our job. After meeting with educators and parents, we found that the single issue they all said most needs attention is parental involvement in their child's education. KUED is striving to bring parents the tools and knowledge they'll need to help their child succeed in the classroom and beyond. We're proud to be a link to a world of resources -- Your Education Connection. Designed to motivate parents to get more involved in their children's education, KUED's Your Education Connection Guide brings parents the tools and knowledge they need to help their children succeed in the classroom. Research has shown that with strong parental involvement, children perform 35 percent better in school. As part of the project, KUED has produced local television programs and printed and distributed thousands of parent booklets in both English and Spanish. KUED is actively involved with the Utah State Office of Education, the PTA, the Utah Center for Families in Education and United Way's Success By 6 program.
